Migration has become a real big issue in Mustang

Recently I made a short trekked to lower mustang with SIT teams as a co-researcher but I found my heart immobilized by the circumstance that I came to know.

Last year, I was in lower Mustang to attend very famous festival so called “Yarthung” means horse racing, cultural and traditional dance and singing. I met bunch of local energetic youth, with aim to change something good in their particular village and we do discussed a lot about it, sharing our idea, opinion, thought and so on. They are fun to spend time with and always wear humble smiley face, no matter how hard their life could be. I was very excited to meet them and discuss the matter further, as I had research more this time and I do have some pretty good solution for our last meeting confusion and doubt. But unfortunately my heart shatter knowing most of them had already migrated to Europe and State.  The remaining youth are planning to migrate to abroad as well; leaving their old parents alone, handling their fields, animals and daily activities in picturesque mountains.

I don’t understand why youth have to migrate to abroad, while leaving the gold mining to someone else hand? Mustang is booming in both local and international tourist because of its unique landscape and its natural beauty beside the Lonely Planet listed out Mustang as the one of the most beautiful places on the earth in 2020.

The people of mustang are happy:- a real happy, the nature of people are humble, welcoming and down to earth with friendly manner. They have their own unique culture, traditional and language but unfortunately it’s in great danger now. As I mention above, the younger generation of mustang are migrating in a rapidly and only left is the older generation. Currently many of Nepali people migrate toward Mustang for better opportunity; because Mustang heavily needs labours in every sector and fields. I came to know that in TANG and CHUGSANG village. It is estimated that every year more than hundreds youths from Mustang migrate to different cities for better future which ultimately leave a great danger to their profound culture, traditional, language and religion. It is also estimated that within two decade Mustang will become a museum.

What is the use of money when you won’t able to buy smile and happiness, instead of buying it’s just create jealously and hatred between the people.  Which ultimately means Mustang is losing its thousands of years old profound culture, religion, traditional,

25th January

It's been more then a decade since I broke up with my first girlfriend. She was truly gifted girl well, I rather use 'Woman' now. Back then, I was attending second continuous years in same grade (eight) while she was at nine. Every year, she walked on stage with loud applause from both teachers and students to accepted academic certificates and appreciation letter. And on the other hand, I was failure
in the eyes of everyone around. With such circumstance and pressure, I choose wrong path over my failure, humiliation and loneliness. I started consuming alcohols and smoking and as a consequence, I was even punished thrice by warden with warning. I bunk class during day and hostel in night, I argued and fight with classmate and bully the younger one.

My girlfriend's name was written on the school record every year while my attractive name was written every year in the black file. After two months of starting second years in grade eight, I was suspended from school for two months for my behaviours. However nothing positive happen even suspending from school, I rejoined and continued carrying what I have been doing so far; smoking, drinking and so on.

She was always so good to me; she would washed my dirty and stinky clothes. Sometimes, she would buy me new clothes and let me do my homework and let me read nobles in front of her eyes. She would solved my homework especially mathematic as I totally hate for puzzling and irritating me.She requested me not to bunk class, not to quarrel with math and Nepali teachers, quit smoking and drinking. And for that she would called me every weekend at roof and let me do certain things but mostly I made excused and I be drinking Chang (Local wine) nearby restaurant.

Her day start with good vibes while me totally negatives; either I washed toilets or listened speech from school captains or warden. Because of my unbearable behaviour, even her positive energy washed away and covered with darkness. I want to see her success not failure, I don't want to be her obstacle if I cannot be helpful. So, therefore I broke up with her. It was not easy however I had to since I had no other choice. After four months, I was expelled from school for getting drunk and  hospitalising our warden.

Today, is 25th January and it was and is very especial day of my life, I proposed her and we had a wonderful four years of relationship. That will be the most beautiful years of my entire life. It's been six or seven years since I started celebrating this merry day with my new friends, who are orphan just like me. We eat various snacks, play games and finally end up with delicious dinner.

(Did you meet her ever since you are expelled from school?)

No, I didn't see her since the day I left school. I went far far away from everything, a place where nobody know me. Fortunately I got a job as a teacher in a primary school, so I teach them English for three years. Then I quit the job as it was not helping me, then I went to some rural area and spent more then eight years working different jobs. Now back to ktm.....well, I don't have any contact with her. Beside I don't know where she could be?

My second charity work..

When I was in university, some volunteer teachers of Tashi Orphan Boarding School told me stories of the kids and their circumstance. Without any second thought, I decided to provide something good to the kids. So, taking my summer vocation as opportunity, I came to Kathmandu and joint school. After a week, I knew more clearly about their circumstance and their situations as they are quite similar with mine, which made me to understand them more.

So, I requested my friends and collected some donation with aim to provide a day picnic to somewhere outside and some clothes to these wonderful kids. As my thought, I am very much grateful to my friends and other donors, who supported and believed in me without any doubt. Which really encourage me to take charity work even further. I took all the wonderful kids to Godawari Botanic garden at the corner of Kathmandu as a picnic spot. I had hire two main chefs, one assistance chef and three helpers to manage the mess and arrangement.

While in picnic, we played various games and had delicious breakfast to dinner as well, as far as I can say; it was merry day to kids as they really enjoy the day outside.  as they really enjoy the day outside. (You can check their picnic pictures in facebook page called “Dhondup Charity”)
At the moment, I am collaborate with Heart Beat non-profit organization for screening a well-known Mustangi feature movie called “ Sherdhak”. I am pretty sure you will know about it as I wrote something about the movie in my last article. From that money, I am planning to buy them other useful materials to the kids or to provide a good food for a day, as His Holiness the Dalai Lama birthday is upcoming up. Let see what happen… wishing for a good thing might happen

Don't be looser.

Sometimes we need to get through fear to see the beauty of thing.

I am not professional translator however I translate simple stories, articles and so on just for the purpose of my pocket money. As I am not born with silver spoon. Anyway leave this topic other wise you will feel sorry for me.

So, recently one of my teacher requested me to translate something which is completely out of my understanding and knowledge. Neither I could accept now I could reject because I don't desire to embarrass myself in my teacher's eyes. He care me as much as his own family members when I was in school.

So, I accepted the big responsibility and honestly speaking I was too afraid and nervous; that I might translate it wrong. So, taking help from various friends I completed the task in a month. As a final edit, I request one of my teacher and he congrats me. That simple word made by day....

Don't run away from problem instead face it, challenge it.

Update yourself

I was told by many friends I am sleepy with my blog these day, it’s not because I lost my appetite toward writing. It’s because I am in a very challenging mission, which is urged by my root guru His Holiness The Dalai Lama “Update your enteral”.  I am pretty sure, you may heard of it.

You might have updated your expensive gadgets time to time but could never heard of updating oneself with time. Normally update means to change something by including the most recent information or to make something more modern. But here its means to change your internal as you change your external image by using different expensive cosmetic creams. External image is important but internal calmness, peacefulness, happiness and so are more significant. Without internal peacefulness, external worth nothing, how hard you push yourself.

In this era of modern technology, our consciousness is converted or drive toward these fancy gadgets, which ultimately enervate our life. We forget to live our life because we think of tomorrow, next year and next as if we are immortal. In Buddhist philosophy it clearly says that everything is changing in every second but we hardly agree with it.

I accept that everybody has a problem but when I am facing a small problem, I reacted as if I am the only one facing such. I am so bounce by the artificial world, where wholesome action has no value but non-virtue action speak louder and conquer the world. And I am influence by the environment.
So therefore, to live my life peacefully, calmly and happily I am updating my inner rather than external beauty.

An old Astrologer

Recently my mind was totally disturbed due to tragic break up with one my childhood friend. With heavy heart I rambled all alone trying to figure out the best solution to fix the broken bridge. I was totally knocked out by the circumstanced; I was like dead-man walking.

When I was puffing a cigarette, I notice an old astrologer by a road side. I finished my cigarette and walk toward the astrologer. I showed him my rough palm with curiosity not because I believe in such orthodox thing. Honestly speaking, I felt pity for him, sitting by the dusty hot pavement without any shade. So, therefore I decided to donate some bucks so that he could have some food in his plate to get rid of empty stomach. However I was embraced with each single line because they are so sweet and charming. For god sake who doesn’t love good thing about oneself unless you are a great saint or enlighten figure like Gautam Buddha. I pay more attention with joy because each line moved me and strengthen my enthusiasm, which emerged strongly through my heart. I thought I should deconstruct my strength and passion which was long gone. I paid him handsomely because he stole my burden, which I was suffering from.

Wearing a peaceful smile, I adieu the old astrologer. I went straight to meet my friend and I confessed I was wrong. After all, the bond between us was not built in a single day, but took years and years. When I shared the incident with him, he was like “Really? You kidding me.”

"Where there is problem, there is solution too. All you need is, to figure out instead of worrying".

My presentation "SUCKS"

8th Jule 2015

That early morning, I prayed as my little heart was conquered by doubts and anxieties. After done with praying, once again I faced the mirror and practiced what I had to speak in front of those peoples.  Through my speech I had to make them to believe my struggle and how hard it was for me to overcome all these obstacles. After all I came all way from India to Pokhara just for this speech.
It’s was not just a speech to sell something worth million but it’s all about who am I and what am I? I might be born and raised up in Nepal but in my vein, the Khampa’s blood circulates every bit of nanosecond. I was lost in thought, suddenly a door knock and I was called for breakfast by little princess. I was taking shelter in one of my good childhood friend’s home, she was talented and veracious. A yummy breakfast was already set on a round table, while having breakfast she asked me if anything is disturbing me. She consoled me and lightens my heavy heart with illustrating beautiful story.

She combed my long messy hair as if I was her small child. While she was combing, I practiced and arranged the words in my brain silently. She wished me for the positive result as if I was going for job interview in a big company. With each step closer to the office, the rhythm of my heart becomes louder and sweating profusely from my brown shinny forehead.

I drank a whole bottle of water to quench both my temperature and thirst. Before entering the office, once again I went through my files and analysis again and arranged the words systematically. I took a deep breath to calm myself but when I found all the eyes were on me. I became nervous and words are not coming from my throat easily “a…a….a” After some up and down with my words structure for some time, gradually their present doesn’t bother me at all. Words are flowing one after another faster than I had expected. I don’t know how; I couldn’t realize that I was speaking fast unless I was stopped and told me to relax. Somehow my confidence was already built up, so I shared them my documents that I had collected so far in five long years.

After completed the presentation, I was told to wait outside for their discussion. I waited for five minutes outside listening to my own heart beat which was quite loud. In my brain, so many things are coming on mostly negatives. I went outside to light a cigarette and after smoking just like in high school I ate two chew-gums. Once again I waited outside and in each five minutes, I peek through the window and tried to listen their debates.  I was summons in the office by a clerk. I took a seat and gave my ear and activate my brain to collect all the data as possible. But they hadn’t done discussion yet because three of the members are still not satisfied with my documents even thou majorities had a given positive responded. The reason for saying no was nothing significant but enclosed my childhood tattled. Those were just a scuttlebutt. Somehow at last, I got what I seek for from them and I am really happy.

From this speech and the way the board members made their decision taught me knowledge. First and most significance, I realized that I should practice my public speaking.  Although the board members are the one to serve their people not to put them in troubles even thou, one shouldn’t make their decision easily. As there are scumbags who create stories and does business in the name of government. So therefore we should always be careful while taking decision.
